Lisa Hong, MD
Researcher biography
Dr Lisa Hong is a Staff Specialist Neonatologist at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Queensland and completed her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). She acquired her training at both the Grantley Stable Neonatal Unit Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Mother’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit , Queensland. Her publications in Noradrenaline inotropic support in neonates as well as Subpial Haemorrhage in newborns have increased her interest to further her research career and impact her clinical practice to improve overall patient outcomes. Her passion to become a clinician researcher has led her to undertake PhD studies through the featured project: ‘Very early biomarkers and Early Detection of Cerebral Palsy (ePINO: Early Prediction of Neurodevelopmental Outcomes)’ through the Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland, Australia. She is a recipient of the University of Queensland Faculty of Medicine Research Training Program Scholarship since 2024 and the RACP Education Eric Burnard Fellowship Grant in 2023.
She has a background of a Bachelor of Pharmacy through the University of Queensland and has acquired a Diploma of Child Health through The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network/Sydney Medical School. Her previous experience and journey through pharmacy and medicine have given her research opportunities increasing her enthusiasm to contribute to the health knowledge in her current field of Neonatology. She is strongly passionate about medical education, medication stewardship and mentorship and is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine through Griffith University, Queensland.
