This week, Queensland Cerebral Palsy Research and Rehabilitation Centre’s Associate Professor, Leanne Sakzewski, was honoured with the Excellence in Research Award at the 2024 CHQ Excellence Awards ceremony.
The Children’s Hospital Queensland Excellence Awards were held at the Children’s Hospital. The Excellence Awards celebrate individuals and teams who exemplify excellence in care that embody the Children’s Hospital Queensland values, and, make significant contributions toward our vision of delivering life-changing care for children and young people.
This award recognizes Associate Professor Sakzewski’ s dedication to advance research and improve the care of children, young people, and their families across Queensland.
The Excellence Awards are determined by votes from the staff of Children’s Hospital Queensland.
Adjunct Professor Frank Tracey, CEO of Children’s Hospital Queensland, remarked that receiving such recognition from peers is a profound honour.
“Being acknowledged by your peers is one of the highest honours you can achieve,” said Prof. Tracey. “As we listened to the stories of our colleagues, we were deeply inspired by their outstanding performance and commitment to excellence in caring for children, young people, and their families throughout Queensland.”
Professor Craig Munns, Director of the Child Health Research Centre, stated: “This award reflects the remarkable work that Leanne and her team are doing and the positive difference they are making in the lives of children in Queensland and beyond”.
