ParticiPAte CP: Optimising participation in physically active leisure for children with cerebral palsy

9 Aug 2018

Optimising participation in physically active leisure for children with cerebral palsyThe Participate CP study in investigating the effectiveness of an indivualised, goal directed intervention focuses on the child’s physically active leisure participation goals for children with cerebral palsy aged between 8 and 12 years. The intervention will be delivered over 12 weeks in the child’s own home, school, community setting dependent on the child’s individual participation goals. Participate CP is a multifaceted intervention targeted to the unique and modifiable barriers to participation for each child.

The project will be conducted from trial sites in Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney, Newcastle and Perth. Therapists who will provide Participate CP will all undertake training on 28th-29th August, and then we start recruiting children to the study. Rolling recruitment will occur so that families can enter at any time. Pre study will be conducted over a school term (12 weeks).
